Lights, Candles, Action

So, I am a hostess at a Country Club. My job is pretty much to upkeep the beautiful ambiance. A major factor in this ambiance is the lighting. Thirty minutes before the dinning room opens it is my responsibility to make sure the candles are lit and the lights are dimmed. Well last night the lights in the hall were too dim, but the hall chandelier had the correct brightness. I got busy preparing some other ambiance necessities and forgot about the dimness of the hall. Then once most of the parties were seated, one of the many mangers who run around like chickens, noticed the lights. Soon enough three different managers where running around to all the switches trying to figure out which light switch would bring down the hall lights without affecting the chandelier. One of the managers flipped up a switch that turned on all the lights in the dinning room to full brightness. Just like the lights of Disney's Space Mountain turning on, the mystery of the event was gone. The bright lights startled everyone, and temporarily ruined the dinner. The members where taken out of the romantic ambiance. Dimmed lights dissipated with lights on at full blast awakening the harsh reality. Luckily the reality at the Country Club isn't too rough and the manager got his job back (I'm exaggerating) and we all laughed it off. But it really showed the power of lighting to create an ambiance.
