Over the weekend I saw a play called love song that depended immensely on lighting for one specific character. He was somewhat crazy and when he was in the dark he felt much better about the life he was living. When the lights were on, he felt like the room just kept getting darker. I feel like this is a great example of how lighting can help explain a character. The lights were a huge part of multiple scenes due to this factor.
