Black Lights

Over this past weekend, my roommates and I decided to throw somewhat of a party at our house. The idea was to cover our living room with black lights, insist that everyone wore a white shirt, provide several highlighters to the masses, and have a grand evening. We purchased 7 large sized black light light bulb at 75 watts, and 120 volts. (That's .625 AMPS, for those that are interested.) The effect was pretty awesome. The black lights caused all white clothing items to have an eerie glow along with the highlighter that was all over the clothing and bodies. In the background of the picture is our backyard area. Had we used a regular, white incandescent bulb, some of the black light effect would have been lost. So instead, we used a red bulb that provided a cool effect on the lighting. It was very cool to play in this way, brushing with different colors from my lighting designer pallet. It certainly set the mood that we were hoping to set.
