Sunset!

Watching a beautiful sunset is pretty much one of my favorite things to do. We are lucky enough to be able to witness some incredible beach sunsets on the stretching white sand beaches in southern California. Recently when my mom came to visit we watched the sunset from begining to end. The colors that changed and spread across the sky were breathtaking. It changed from yellows, to oranges, hints of red, pink, purple and navy blue before finally becoming a black sky. What stood out to me was the way the sunset transfered from color to color in a perfectly timed manner. This is exactly what lighting on stage can look like when the timing of light fades and changes between scenes is strong and correct. The colors of the sunset are also very inspiring in what I would love to see on stage. The mixing of colors from all areas of the sky is such a great example as to what we can create with different side, front and back lights on the stage. It was so refreshing and exciting to have this moment of watching the sunset and being emotionally effected by watching LIGHT. I hope to continue to see light in life and on stage that evokes emotion and inspiration.
