I went to a friend's house in Sierra Madre the other day. It was late and I had to park far down the hill from her house, because the town has terrible parking. The moon was full or nearly full which created a lot of sharp shadows on the many trees, walls and houses. It was an illuminated night but the blue-white glow of the moon along with the screams of fighting raccoons somewhere around the corner made it quite eery. The shadows that were cast by the light of the moon and street lamps made many different shapes on the asphalt and it was difficult to intrepret what you were looking at. It was a generally spooky night out.

such a great juxtaposition to Mo's post - amazing how the same moon, probably the same night, can look so different
