Barebones
Throughout the Barebones Dance Theater performances and tech rehearsals, most of us dancers spent our time waiting backstage in the middle of the humanities building hallway. The fluorescent lights are so dim that I’d feel drowsy entering. The lighting also made it difficult to discern the identity of the person walking down the hallway. It was bright enough so that you’d be able to make out their silhouette but to distinguish their features, you’d have to lean forward and squint real hard. While this hallway obviously wasn’t designed to serve as the backstage of a theater, it certainly would have helped us maintained our energy levels if the lights had been slightly brighter. Not that the dancers failed to deliver during the performance; the concert was absolutely awesome. I think the light just made everyone a little sleepy.
